c'mon in!

Whew!  We've been crazy busy over here cleaning, unpacking, installing, grunting, groaning, sanding, painting, drinking coffee, and tending to baby.  I finally got the pictures of the house loaded onto the computer and lightly edited.  The pictures were taken during late afternoon on the day we got the keys, so the light wasn't the greatest; bare with me through the quality of some of these photos.

Without further adieu...our house.

Our front door is quite, er, charming.

Stepping in the front door, living room straight ahead with built-in book shelf and fireplace.

Future dining room to the left of the entry.  (That rug has already been rolled up and put in the garage for donation.)

The current dining room has a large built in hutch with tons of storage.  The plan is to turn this room into my craft room.  I can't wait to fill all those drawers with my supplies and materials!

The existing dining room has a doorway that leads into the kitchen.  The very red kitchen.

There is a doorway in the kitchen that leads to the laundry room.  This little room has a window and three doors - one for the pantry, one to the garage, and one to a third bathroom.

A doorway between the living room and kitchen leads out to the sunroom - one of my favorite rooms in the house.

And then there's the hallway leading to the private rooms of the house.

This is the hall bathroom.  There is a tub opposite the toilet.

The master bedroom has a door that leads outside.  We're not quite sure why...

The open doorway in the picture above is to the master bathroom, seen in the picture below.

Callan's room is right across the hall from our room.

I thought I had snapped a few pictures of the guest room, but can't seem to find them.  It has a large double closet and an arched window just like in Callan's room, and a dark grayish wall color like the rest of the bedrooms.  But you'll see it soon enough!

So that's the house.  There's a lot of work to be done.  LOTS to paint.  The more we are in the house the more it's starting to feel like home.  We have already made a few updates and changes - I'll be sharing some of them next week!  I'm off to patch nail holes in the hallway and then whip out my paint brush to freshen up the wainscoting.  It's going to be a busy weekend!

Hope you enjoy yours!
