Saturday, Saturday, Sunday

We had a three day weekend of sorts around here.  Travis took Friday off.  He felt he owed it to the house (and me?)  since he had to be away last weekend at drill.  So it was like we had two Saturdays in a row.  Good stuff.

I spent the majority of the weekend working on my painting project.  (I'll hopefully be sharing it with you tomorrow!)  And Travis spent some time in the yard taking out shrubs and working on the sprinkler system.  I'm pretty sure he loves having his own yard.

We spent our fair share of time at Lowe's this weekend.  Well, Travis more than me, but we were there long enough one day for Callan to fall asleep in his sling.  Just look at those cheeks!

Travis has been pretty giddy about his new lawnmower that his parents gifted us over the weekend.  Apparently the grass can't grow fast enough.

This is what the house is looking like lately.  Chaos.  It's really starting to drive us nuts.  Since so much of my time has been sucked up by my painting project, the rest of the house has been neglected.  This week, though, progress will be made!

We even got our flag hung up this weekend.  Nothing like flying a flag on your very own home to show a little American pride.

And yeah...we indulged this weekend.  We swung by Katy's pantry one afternoon for a sweet treat.  Mississippi Mud something is what this little bit of yumminess was called.  I want more.

Saturday morning.  Travis made another Lowe's/Sears run.  We were almost out of milk.  He picked up breakfast on the way home.  Breakfast of champions?  Totally.  Ha!

You do breakfast for dinner when you're not really in the mood to cook, right?  Don't let me think I'm alone out here...!  But guess what?  I've got gas.  No, not that kind of gas.  Gas to cook on!  This is the first time, EVER, that I've lived where the stove is of the gas kind.  Let me tell you, it takes some getting used to!  Note the pancakes...  The next batch turned out slightly better after I way lowered the heat.  Apparently setting the flame at a mid range is still a bit too high, at least for pancakes.

Callan was such a good sport this weekend in letting us get things accomplished around the house.  Despite a screwy sleep schedule, he's adjusting to home ownership pretty nicely.  :)

Well, that was our weekend in a nutshell.  And we're already ready for the next one.
