a is for alphabet

A few weeks ago I visited a favorite blog of mine, take heart, and found myself totally crushing on the playroom Danielle created for her kids.  The alphabet cards that she had posted on the wall caught my eye - I had to have 'em.  I had been lightly searching for some alphabet cards to hang in Callan's room, but had yet to find some that weren't so typical preschool, "A is for apple" with primary colors and boring pictures of apples and cats.  The ones Danielle had used in her playroom were definitely unique.  "N is for narwhal".  Seriously?  I love this.

see her letters?  kinda hard to miss with the big yellow arrow I added to her picture, pointing right at them

(all above images from Danielle's blog)

I had commented on her post about how I thought her playroom was so cute and that I loved the alphabet cards.  I asked where she found them.  Guess what?  She commented on my blog and told me where I could get some of my own!  I finally got around to checking out the website the other day and was so pleasantly surprised to find that these alphabet cards were only six dollars and change!  With tax and shipping, they came to just over $10.  Not bad for a mom on a budget and for a huge impact in Callan's room.  (We used some of Callan's Christmas money to pick these up -- thanks Great Grandma!)  I ordered them on Sunday and they were here yesterday.  I tore that package open so fast...to reveal the. cutest. alphabet. cards. ever.

What I love even more than the fun animal images on these cards is that on the backside of each one, there are a few fun facts about the animal on the front of the card!  I can't wait to hang these puppies hung up in Callan's room, clothesline style.  I'll share photos once they're up.  Callan's almost 2 months old - not to early to teach him that "N is for narwhal", is it?

(P.S. - Danielle, if you're reading this, thanks for hooking me up with the source for these cards!)
